Biography
Optometrist Wayne Connell graduated from the University of Memphis in 2004 and received his doctorate from the Southern College of Optometry in 2008. Dr. Connell completed external rotations at Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, Kentucky as well as at a private practice in Miami, Florida with Dr. Stephen Morris.
A native Tennessean, Dr. Connell relocated to East Tennessee, where he has been in practice since 2008. Prior to joining Volunteer Eyecare he practiced in Morristown and Knoxville.
Dr. Connell practices adult and pediatric primary eye care, comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contact lenses; surgical pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery; and ocular disease management including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, injuries and infections.
Dr. Connell is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians and the East Tennessee Society of Optometric Physicians.
